About Karen Peters

Therapist in Halstead, Essex

My professional career in Complementary Therapies began in 1998, when a physical ailment following bereavement led me to explore the benefits of complementary medicine to support conventional medicine.

As a Practitioner I began to see a recurring pattern, although patients were benefiting from effective treatments such as Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology they were still returning with the same stresses week after week.

This led me to focus more on the psychological aspect of well-being, undertaking further training in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis.

I found that if used effectively, these therapies could help to create lasting positive change and help to reduce negative emotions that had been held for a long time, sometimes even since childhood.

I believe a good therapist is like an artist.

The sculpture/work of art is already in the rock waiting for the sculptor to reveal it. A master craftsman doesn’t just use one tool; he has an array of tools to suit the job in hand.

You could have the best hammer in the world but you wouldn’t use it to carve a sculpture, you’d need a chisel as well.

Therapy is the same, you may need to blend several different things together to get the best result.

It’s important to stress that you can’t change things that have happened to you. Unless you have a time-machine, you can’t change the fact that you may have had a difficult childhood, or that a loved one has died or that your boss is a bully or that your spouse may have been unfaithful to you. But you can change how you feel about it and how you react to it and that will make all the difference.

Imagine how good it would feel to let go of all that guilt, shame, grief, disappointment, fear or sadness. What would that feel like?

I can support you to gently release those deep-held negative emotions, guide you towards a more positive outlook and help you fall back in love with your life. Imagine being able to regain control of your life and look toward the future with a more positive attitude.
